A whole lot of cuteness

Today was Nathan's big gymnastics exhibition. He was so excited that Grandmom, Grandad, Uncle Ned, Aunt Mel, Carter and Grandpa Chuck came out to see, that he almost didn't want to do gymnastics. But he did a great job and it was exactly what I thought it would be....ridiculously cute.

At the end, he was super cool and got to stand on the first place block and get a trophy.

As you can see, he's a little in love with the trophy. He wouldn't take his eyes off of it.

Then Jessi, Joe, Ty, and Andrew came over to play and cookout. The box to Aaron's new car seat was a big hit.
What a cute group of boys!

Everyone left and it was just Nathan, Aaron, and the box. This sequence of pictures is hilarious to me.
1) Nathan's pulling his leg and it looks like Aaron is holding on for dear life 2) Aaron let go and the look on his face says "uh oh"
And now he's getting dragged it by his foot and it looks like he's accepted it.

It all ended well : )

Ok, finally bath time and Nathan wants to "share" his bath with Aaron. Well, we all know that what Nathan wants, Nathan gets. They had so much fun and with all the splashing, I can say that I don't think I need a shower tonight.

Life around the Palazzo house has been crazy lately and at most times, completely stressful. But today has been such a fun day, no thoughts about moving or money or cleaning or renting. Just a great day with family and friends. So....I'm going to end it listening to this thunderstorm on the porch with a beer and thinking about how lucky how I really am.

some recent fun

We have been so busy and I haven't had much to blog. I have still been taking pictures though. Here are a few that I thought were worth sharing.
Are those some happy boys, or what?!?!?

Mother's Day

My wonderful Mother's Day started with......
That's right!!! Breakfast in bed. I've never had breakfast in bed before and it really is as cool as it looks. : ) Then I got a little snuggle and toons time with one of my main men.
We went to the playground and just had a cool day at home. We cooked a fantastic dinner and drank a great bottle of wine that we had been holding onto for a while. Ryan's dad came for dinner and it was all perfect.
And then this is what happens when Mommy decides to have a small bowl of ice-cream.
some serious begging

Hooray!!!!

Well, we started with the potty training on Sunday. When Nathan woke up in the morning, I took him straight out of his diaper and into "big boy pants". He thought it was super cool or in his words "weal cool", especially since they all had some sort of fun character like Mickey Mouse or Lightning McQueen on them. I had my jar of M&Ms ready and a huge stack of underwear for the accidents. Well, day 1 we went through about 7 pair of underwear and day 2 about 7 more. I went from so excited and confident that this was going to work to a little bummed. BUT, today, Nathan woke up and I put his Lightning McQueen underwear on him and Ryan took that same pair of Lightning McQueen underwear off of him for his bath. He made it a whole day!!! Granted I was taking him to the potty every 30 minutes or so but still, such an accomplishment. We are so proud of him and it is so cute to see him so proud of himself. Tomorrow will be our big test because he will go to gymnastics with no diaper. Don't worry, I will have an extra change of clothes just in case.

In all this excitement, I've forgotten my Aaron update. Sunday morning I left Ryan with the boys for a very short time while I went for a walk. In that short time, Aaron decided to go ahead and pull himself up. Ryan said he just looked up and Aaron was standing there. I can't believe I missed it. I guess it's only fair. I get to see everything happen first so I guess it's about time Ryan did. I feel like Aaron is getting big so fast and it's killing me. I'm pretty sure that I want him to stay a big chunky baby forever. But, since I don't have a choice in the matter, I'm soaking in all of the things that I LOVE about him getting big. This being my absolute favorite.

They are really starting to love each other and play together. It's so much fun to hear the two of them laughing from the other room.

And then just some pictures I've been taking the last couple of days. They looked great on my camera, but now all I have to say is BOOO for blurriness.

Fun In May

This weekend has been so much fun so far.
Friday night I went out to dinner with a group of girls that 15 years ago I spent the majority of my time with. We all got back in touch through the wonderful world of facebook and have started a wonderful tradition of getting together every other month. This was our second dinner together and I have had so much fun catching up with them. It feels like we could never run out of things to talk about. I'm already looking forward to the next one.
Then yesterday, we went to May Fest in Carrollton with Kelly and Carson. Unfortunately for us, we didn't see much of Chad, but fortunately for Chad, the pub was PACKED. The boys had a great time and the weather held out for us.

This is the closest I've been able to get Nathan to a horse and his little legs were squeezing me so tight. And......He got to meet a chicken. He seems to be fascinated with chickens right now.

This is what it looks like when you try to get 2 two year olds to stop looking at a fire truck and look at the camera at the same time.
And last but I'm sure not least, We have Nathan in big boy underwear today and are trying, trying, trying for potty training. Pray for us.
